HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-12Ordinance 2005-12 Zoning Ordinance Amendments for B-2, R-1 and R-2 Districts Adopted: March 24, 2005 Effective: March 24, 2005 ORDINANCE 2005-12 Zoning Ordinance Amendments for the B-2, R-1 and R-2 Districts WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia has considered the best interests of the public and determined that it is consistent with the general welfare of the citizens to amend the Zoning Ordinance requirements for the B-2, R-1 and R-2 Districts; and WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia has considered the best interests of the community and its citizens and bases the following amendments to the Zoning Regulations and Zoning Ordinance upon the public necessity, convenience, general welfare, and good zoning practices; NOW, THEREFORE be it ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in special session this 23`" day of March 2005, that the following amendments to the Zoning Regulations and Zoning Ordinance shall be made as follows: 1) The front minimum setback for the B-2 District as listed in Table 1. "Lot Regulations by District", page 69, shall be amended from 50 feet to 25 feet. 2} The minimum lot size for the R-1 District, as listed in Table 1. "Lot Regulations by District» page 69, shall be amended from 22,500 sq. ft. to 12,500 sq. ft. 3) The minimum lot width for the R-1 District, as listed in Table 1 "Lot Regulations by District", page 69, shall be amended from 150 feet to 100 feet. 4) The minimum lot depth requirement of for the R-1 District, as fisted in Table 1 "Lot Regulations by District', page 69, shall be amended from 150 feet to 100 feet. 5) Section 403.3 "Special Exceptions" for the R-2 District shall add Section 403.3-10 which shall read "Congregate senior housing as a special exception." 6) Section 1102 "Definitions" shall be amended to include the following definition: "Congregate senior housing-a multi-family, single floor structure consisting of individual `units designed for the primary purpose of providing a residence for seniors (age 60+) able to live on their own. This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 24~' day of March 2005 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, as follows: Jeffrey S.
