WHEREAS, the Town Council has delibaratod on the pry a~ cons of adopting an increase in the cigarette tax and fiuthe~ has considered the economic impact to the Town's businesses as well as the public i and general welfare; and NOW, TIIEREPORB, be it ORDAII~iBD by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia that Ordinaace 95-20 Section 1(1) of the Town of Pulaski Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to provide that the cigarette tax be increased from 50.0050 per cigarette (50.10 per pack of 20 cigarettes) to 50.0075 p~ cigarette ($0.15 per pack of 20 cigs~ettes). This ordinance is effective upon adoption aad ie hereby adopted this 11'~ day of May, 2004 sad is adoptaod by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, as follows: Bettye H.
