ORDINANCE 2004-04
STUDY REGARDING FEASIBILITY OF CONSOLIDATION WITH POLICE
AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS WITH THE COUNTY OF PULASKI
WHEREAS, any locality may, pursuant to the Code of Virginia 9950, as amended,
Section 15.2-1726, enter into a reciprocal agreement with any other locality such as
Pulaski County for cooperation with regard to furnishing police and fire services; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that it is in the best interest of and
consistent with the general welfare of the citizens of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia that a
feasibility study be conducted to determine among other factors the cost effectiveness
and efficiencies (if any) of a possible consolidation of fire and police services with the
County of Pulaski; and
NOW, THEREFORE be it ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia that a feasibility study be conducted by the Town Staff regarding consolidation
of fire and police services of the Town with the County of Pulaski.
This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 3'~ day of
February, 2004, by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
as follows:
