Resolution Asking the Assistance of Commonwealth of Virginia Senator Malfourd "Bo"
Trumbo and Delegate Thomas G. Baker, Jr. in Seeking Support and Funding for the
Pulaski Railway Station Museum Annex,
WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski, Virginia continues to revitalize its historic downtown in
cooperation with the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Virginia Main Street; and,
'WHEREAS, the community has successfully restored the Historic Pulaski County Courtl-ouse
in 1992 and the Pulaski Railway Statan in 1994; and,
WHEREAS, the Railway Station currently serves as the Tawn museum, home of the Pulaski
County Chamber of Commerce, a visitor's center and includes a neighborhood playground; and,
WHEREAS, the New River Trail State Park is scheduled to be extended to the Pulaski Railway
Station in 1999; and,
WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski has already developed a master plan for the museum annex
through the efforts of the Virginia Tech Community Design Assistance Center, having an
estimated cost of between SS00,000 and 5800,400.
• NOW THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia, sitting in regular session on December I, 1998 that Council asks the assistance of
Commonweahh of Virginia Senator Malfourd "Bo" Trumbo, and Delegate Thomas G. Baker, Jr.
in seeking support and fining for tt~ Pulaski Railway Station Museum Annex.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the Town Council
of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regulaz session, on this 1st day of December, 1998 as
follows:
