TEA-21 Project Endorsement Resolution
For The Expansion Of The Raymond F. Ratcliffe Memorial Museum
For Transportation Enhancement Related Purposes In The Town of Pulaski
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Commonwealth Transportation Board construction
allocation procedures, it is necessary that a request by resolution be received from the
local government in order that the Virginia Department of Transportation program an
enhancement project in the Town of Pulaski.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of
Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular session on January 19, 1999, requests the
Commonwealth Transportation Board to establish a project for the
improvement/expansion of the Raymond F. Ratcliffe Memorial Museum Welcome
Center in the Town of Pulaski.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town of Pulaski hereby agrees to pay 20
percent of the total cost for planning, engineering and design of the project. The Town's
20 % share will come from the $209,000 funded by the Town to purchase the property for
this same project.
If the Town of Pulaski subsequently decides to cancel the project, the Town of Pulaski
hereby agrees to reimburse the Virginia Department of Transportation for the total
amount of the costs expended by the Department through the date the Department is
notified of such cancellation.
This Resolution is effective as of January 19, 1999 and is adopted this 19th day of
January, 1999.
