PROVIDING FOR THE REVISION OF CERTAIN POLICE ADMINISTRATIVE FEES
AND AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION OF AN ORDINANCE TO INCREASE THE
E-911 TAX SURCHARGE RATE FROM $0.42 TO $1.00
WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski may establish by administrative regulation, certain fees for the
provision of special services including accident reports, escort services and the like within the
Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the Council Finance Committee has reviewed proposed revisions, and
'WHEREAS, pursuant to the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, the Council may enact and has
enacted an E-911 tax to support equipment, maintenance, and dispatch personnel costs to provide
enhanced 911 telecommunication services; and
WHEREAS, the Council Finance Committee recommends that the E-911 tax rate be increased
from $0.42 to $1.00 effective upon adoption of an appropriate ordinance.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Pulaski
1. that the following administrative police department fees be revised as follows:
a. Accident report, increase from $3.00 to $5.00
b. Incident report, increase from $3.00 to $5.00
c. Finger print service, increase from $3.00 to $5.00
• d. Wide load permit, increase from $5.00 to $11.00
2. that an ordinance be drafted by the Town Attorney to increase the E-911 tax rate from
$0.42 to $1.00 and that a public hearing be scheduled to obtain comment on the
proposed ordinance revision.
This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by duly recorded vote of the Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia on this the 1~` day of August, 2000 as follows:
