RESOLUTION 2000-23
DESIGNATING THE OFFICE OF TOWN MANAGER
AS APPLICANT ON BEHALF OF THE TOWN
FOR THE DERELICT STRUCTURES PROGRAM
AND PROVIDING FOR RELATED ACTIONS
WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski is a municipal corporation chartered by the
Commonwealth of Virginia to undertake those functions provided by charter or general
law; and,
WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski undertakes to provide for the inspection and
enforcement of applicable building codes within its jurisdiction including the Virginia
Uniform Statewide Building Code, BOCA Existing structures Building Code of 1993 and
other applicable ordinances or laws as related; and,
WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski has identified one or more buildings that may
potentially be eligible to participate in the Derelict Structures Program, a program that
provides for stabilization and/or removal and redevelopment of dilapidated buildings and
sites within an eligible project area and on a matching cost sharing basis; and,
WHEREAS, a portion of the Town of Pulaski has been designated as a Federal and State
Historic District, also to be known as the Derelict Structures Program Project Area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Pulaski that
the Office of Town Manager is designated as the applicant under the Derelict Structures
Program and is authorized to submit such related documentation as may be necessary to
implement the Pulaski Derelict Structures Project.
This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted upon duly recorded vote of the
Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this the 15~' day of August, 2000 as
