Resolution 2000-25
Regarding the Meeting Times of Town Council
WHEREAS, Pulaski Town Council presently meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month,
the second meeting intended as a work session for the standing committees of Town Council;
and,
WHEREAS, the Charter of the Town of Pulaski requires at least one regular meeting each
month; and,
WHEREAS, it is the sense of Council that the consideration of the affairs of the Town may be
assisted if the standing committees met periodically or on call of the committee chair rather than
meeting as a committee of the whole on the third Tuesday of each month; and,
WHEREAS, said committees may then report or recommend matters for consideration by the
full Council on the first Tuesday of each month.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Town Council, that pursuant to the Charter and
the Code of Ordinances, Section 2-21, a change in meeting times is approved as follows:
1. the meeting at 5:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month is discontinued
• 2. each standing committee shall meet on a regular basis such as monthly or as
called by the committee chair according to the amount of committee business
to be considered.
This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted upon duly recorded vote of the Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this, the 3rd day of October, 2000 as follows:
