Resolution 2000-29
Acknowledging and Assisting a Request by Downtown Pulaski, Inc. for
Private Foundation Funding for One-Year Full-Time Main Street Manager
WHEREAS, Downtown Pulaski, Inc., has submitted a grant application to the C. E. Richardson
Benevolent Foundation for special funding related to establishing the main street manager as a
full-time position for one year; and,
WHEREAS, DPI intends this funding as a demonstration project to provide information as to
whether efforts should be made in the future to establish this position as a permanent full-time
position; and,
WHEREAS, DPI also seeks Council's approval to act as fiscal agent should this grant be
awarded inasmuch as DPI, Inc. is in process of seeking status as a qualifying non-profit agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of Pulaski that, should a grant
be approved, the Town will agree to act as fiscal agent under terms and conditions to be
established by the Town;
. FURTHER, that the Town Council has supported and continues to support DPI efforts with
regard to downtown economic development and community revitalization and encourages
favorable consideration of the private foundation grant application.
This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted upon duly recorded vote of the Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this, the 3`d day of October, 2000 as follows:
