Resolution 2000-32
Regarding an Agreement for Professional Services with Wiley and Wilson, Inc.
for Construction Design and Related Services for the Maple Shade Project.
WHEREAS, Pulaski Town Council has previously resolved to proceed with full services to
prepare detailed design plans and construction documents for the proposed Maple Shade Project
to house an expanded Ratcliffe Railway Museum and New River Valley Fine Arts Center; and,
WHEREAS, Pulaski Town Council has previously received a proposed standard form AIA
agreement for professional services that sets forth proposed services and fees for services; and,
WHEREAS, fees are based on a design to cost target of $3,638,000 and are estimated to be a
total of $308,600 including base scope services of $271,000 and other estimated expenses of
$37,000; and,
WHEREAS, as this project is funded in part by TEA-21 Transportation Enhancement Funds and
approval of the proposed document is also required by the Virginia Department of Transportation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the proposed agreement with Wiley and
Wilson, Inc. be and it hereby is approved subject to approval by the Virginia Department of
• Transportation which is still pending; and,
FURTHER, that the Town Manager be and he hereby is authorized to execute said agreement at
such time as the Virginia Department of Transportation approves agreement.
This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted on the recorded vote of the
Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this, the 5th day of December, 2000 as
follows:

Wiley & Wilson is pleased to provide yoq with this proposal for the development of construction
documents for the Pulaski Museum Expansion Project. The proposal includes all services necessary to
complete the design, including geotechnical services, survey, design, landscape design, and
environmental remediation. The design and landscape design services are divided into three phases -
Preliminary Design Development, Design Development Documents, and Construction Documents. These
three phases represent 30 percent, 60 percent, and 100 percent of the total fee, respectively. The scope of
services to be completed for each phase of the services is as follows:
Preliminary Design Development Phase
a) Verification of existing conditions
b) Complete topographic survey
c) Complete geotechnical evaluation
d) Floor plans consisting of each floor layout showing space names, nominal room sizes, and
circulation paths
e) Roof plan
f) Longitudinal building section with floor to floor and floor to ceiling dimensions
g) Transverse building section
h) Exterior elevation views
i) Orientation and approximate locationofroposed roads, walks, and parkin on a site plan
