RESOLUTION 2002-02
Regarding Making Application for a Recreation Trails Grant
WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski is presently constructing portions of the New River
Trail extension Phase I; and,
WHEREAS, planning, design and acquisition is also taking place with regard to a Phase
II and Phase III of the trail along portions of Dora Highway and Peak Creek; and,
WHEREAS, an opportunity exists to apply for funding under the Virginia Recreational
Trails Program; and,
WHEREAS, the town of Pulaski proposes to apply for a project to bring Phase 2 to a
location approximately at Cool Springs and connecting with the Steger Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Pulaski Town Council that the Town
Manager be authorized to apply for a grant of up to $100,000 with an understanding that
a 20°'0 local match must be provided but that this will be furnished in the form of force
account or other in-kind services or value.
This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia on this I5~' day of January, 2002 as follows:
