HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-08.y • RESOLUTION 2004-08 A Resolution Requesting Industrial Access Funds from the Commonwealth Transportation Board for the Pulaski Business Park WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski, Virginia has purchased property in the Town of Pulaski and has entered into a firm contract for construction of facilities on that property for the purpose of industrial development and jobs creation; and WHEREAS, these new facilities are expected to involve a new private capital investment in land, buildings, and manufacturing equipment of $1.7 million and Gregory General Contracting and Ground Vibration Consultants are expected to employ 25 persons at these facilities; and WHEREAS, manufacturing operations are expected to begin at these new facilities on • or about January 2005; and WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski hereby guarantees that the necessary environmental analysis, mitigation, and fee simple right of way for these improvements, and utility relocations or adjustments, if necessary, will be provided at no cost to the Industrial, Airport, and Rail Access Fund; and WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski acknowledges that the State Environmental Review Process (SERP) must be conducted on this project as a condition of the Industrial, Airport, and Rail Access Fund. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia hereby requests that the Commonwealth Transportation Board provide financing from the Industrial, Airport and Rail Access Fund to provide an adequate road to these new industrial facilities; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia hereby agrees that the new roadway so constructed will be added to and become part of the road system of the Town of Pulaski. • C • This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted this 6th day of April 2004 by vote of the Town Council as follows: Jeffrey S. Stewart, Jr., Mayor At a regularly scheduled meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia held on April 6, 2004 on a motion by Councilman Black, seconded by Councilman Neblett, the aforementioned resolution was adopted by a vote of 7 to 0.
