A RESOLUTION HONORING
CHARLES D. "CANNONBALL" STAFFORD
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia desires to honor and recognize
those persons who have rendered service to the Town and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Charles Draper Stafford, affectionately known as "Cannonball" to his friends and
the Townspeople, worked diligently on the Town's behalf in a variety of organizations; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Stafford served the citizens of the Town of Pulaski both as a member and Vice-
Chairman of the Planning Commission for nine and one-half years and as a member of the
Architectural Review Board for eight years until his passing on April 8, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Stafford was well known for the dedication that he showed in his duties for the
Town, with his attention to detail, his faithfulness in attendance, and his willingness to take on
extra work when requested; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Stafford performed his duties for the Town with a unique blend of
professionalism, courtesy and common sense which was a credit to himself, his family and his
community,
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
sitting in regular session this 3rd day of May 2005, that the Town of Pulaski should and hereby
recognizes the service and lasting contributions of Charles Draper "Cannonball" Stafford to the
• citizens of the Town of Pulaski; and,
FURTHER that the Town Council wishes to extend its sympathies to the family of Charles D.
Stafford.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 3rd day of May 2005 by
recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
