• RESOLUTION HONORING KAITLYNN COOK
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia desires to recognize and
commend citizens of the Town who have distinguished themselves in some field of endeavor
by achieving honors and recognition for themselves and the Town; and,
WHEREAS, Kaitlynn Cook is a resident of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia and a junior at
Pulaski County High School and has achieved numerous honors for her academic
achievements and including: being awarded a letter as a freshman and sophomore for
academic excellence; recognized in the Who's Who of High School Students for academic
achievement; being nominated for membership in the National Honor Society; and,
WHEREAS, Kaitlynn is also noted for her activities as a member of the F.F.A; and the
Mountain Academic Competition Conference team for English and for receiving a Daughters
of the American Revolution Citizenship Award; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to these achievements, Kaitlynn was selected on April 11, 2007, as
one of only six students in the Commonwealth of Virginia, to participate in the 2007 Summer
Residential Governor's School Mentorship for Marine Science at Gloucester Point, Virginia
and Christopher Newport University, where she will assist with research sponsored by the
Virginia Institute for Marine Science; and,
• NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia,
sitting in regular session this 1st day of May 2007, that the Town Council extends their
sincerest congratulations to Kaitlynn Cook on her appointment to the Governor's School and
extends to her their best wishes for continued success in all her many endeavors.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted by the duly recorded vote of
the Town Council as follows:
