RESOLUTION
HONORING VIRGINIA DANCE COMPANY STUDENTS
WHEREAS, the dance students of Elizabeth Ayers of the Virginia Dance
Company traveled to Hickory, North Carolina to compete in SHOWSTOPPER's,
the largest dance competition in the world, with more than 80,000
participants; and '.
WHEREAS, Kerri Weddle, Karen Spraker and Allison Phillippi received a
first place award in the 15-year old ballet category for their classical
performance of DON QUIXOTE. Erin Yoder, Laura McGlothlin, Rebekkah
Warburton, Sara Woodie and Lauren Huff received a second place award for
their performance of Little Swans from SWAN LAKE; and
WHEREAS, both groups will travel to Myrtle Beach to compete for the
national title of America's best dance group; and
.WHEREAS, Josie McMillan, Emily Folsom, Karen Spraker and Kerri Weddle
came in 5th place for their jazz piece, Dangerous.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of
Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular session on May 7, 1991, that the
Town Council should and hereby honors the Pulaski students for their
excellence in the SHOWSTOPPER's regional dance competion.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded
vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this 7th
day of May, 1991 as follows:
