ISTEA Project Endorsement Resolution
for the extension of the New River Trail
in the Town of Pulaski, Virginia

WHEREAS, in accordance with Commonwealth Transportation Board construction
allocation procedures, it is necessary that a request by resolution be received from the local
government in order that the Virginia Department of Transportation program an
enhancement project in the Town of Pulaski.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia, sitting in regular session on January 17, 1995, requests the Commonwealth
Transportation Board to establish a project for the improvement of the New River Trail in
the Town of Pulaski.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town of Pulaski hereby agrees to pay 20 percent of
the total cost for planning and design, right-of-way, and construction of the project. The
Town's 20 percent share will be funded by the $190,000 approved in the 1992 State Bond
Issue for this same project.
If the Town of Pulaski subsequently decides to cancel the project, the Town of Pulaski
hereby agrees to reimburse the Virginia Department of Transportation for the total amount
of the costs expended by the Department through the date the Departm~nt• is notified of
such cancellation.
This Resolution is effective as of January 17, 1995 and is adopted this 17th day of January,
1995.
