RESOLUTION 96-5
COMMENDING TOWN EMPLOYEES FOR EFFORTS DURING SNOWSTORM
WHEREAS, The Town of Pulaski received over two feet of snow on January 5th and
6th, 1996, followed by ice and snow on January 12, 1996; and,
WHEREAS, The `Blizzard of `96" created many hazards and problems; and,
WHEREAS, Town employees in the Public Works Department, Fire Department, Parks
& Recreation and Police Department worked around the clock plowing snow, clearing
parking lots and handling related emergencies; and,
WHEREAS, Town Council is especially proud of the Public Works Department's snow
removal efforts and many comments were received that they outperformed other area local
governments; and

WHEREAS, all Town Employees pulled together to handle the additional customer
complaints and problems associated with the blizzard.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia, that Town Council commends its employees for their efforts, dedication and
teamwork for the citizens of the Town of Pulaski.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in regular session, on this 16th day of
January, 1995 as follows:
