NEW RIVER VALLEY INTERMODAL TRANSPORTATION CENTER
WHEREAS, transportation facility development is critical to the long teen economic
vitality of a region, and
WHEREAS, there exists today in the New River and specifically in Pulaski County the
opportunity to develop an "Irrtermodal Transportation Center", a concert that ties two or more
transportation modes together to form a seamless transportation for moving goods and/or people,
and
WHEREAS, the key resources needed to develop an "Intermodal Transportation Center"
currently exists in the New River Valley and Pulaski County including the Radford Army
Ammunition Plant's Dublin Rail Facility, Burlington Industries and other potential Storage
Warehouse, the New River Valley Airport facility and other resources.
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Pulaski at its
regular meeting of June 18, 1996, that:
1. The Town of Pulaski joins Pulaski Encouraging Progress in wholeheartedly supporting
the development of the concept of an "Intermodal Transportation Facility" in the New River
Valley, and
2. The Town of Pulaski further supports Pulaski Encouraging Progress in their efforts to
organize a "Transportation Summit" in September, 1996, with Federal, State and local political
leaders and other transportation experts.
This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted this 18th day of June, 1996, by
the recorded vote of the Town Council as follows:
