ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING REGULATIONS TO INCLUDE CLUSTER
HOUSING PROVISIONS
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia held a properly advertised
public hearing and considered the issue of amending the Zoning Regulations to provide for a
definition of cluster housing and to determine in which zoning district such housing shall be
permitted; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has considered the best interests of the community and its
citizens, and bases the following amendment to the Zoning Regulations upon the public
necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practices; and
NOW THEREFORE be it ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
sitting in regular session this 7~h day of February, 2006 that the Zoning Regulations of the
Town of Pulaski are amended as follows:
1) Section 1102, of the Zoning Regulations is amended to include the
following definition:
"Cluster housing"-A development design which places attached
dwellings in close proximity to each other with nearby spaces set out for
common use of the dwelling owners."
2) Cluster housing shall be a permitted use in the R-3 Residential District and
shall be listed under Section 404.2 "Permitted Uses" as:
" 404.2-9 Cluster housing."
This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 7~ day of February,
2006 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski as follows:
