HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-26• CJ Ordinance 2007-26 Amending Chapter 50 Of The Code Of Ordinances Of The Town Of Pulaski, Virginia ADOPTED: November 6, 2007 EFFECTIVE: November 6, 2007 • ORDINANCE 2007-26 • ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 50 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE TOWN OF PULASKI, VIRGINIA WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, has received concerns and complaints from citizens regarding the unauthorized assembly and congregation of persons on private property, without the knowledge or consent of the owner, in various locations in the Town and; WHEREAS, such congregation of persons on private property has also impeded the use of the public right of way in such a manner as to adversely affect the public health, welfare and safety of the citizens of the Town of Pulaski; NOW THEREFORE, be it ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in regular session this 6th day of November 2007, that Chapter 50 of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia is amended as follows: Article VI. Designation of Police to Enforce Trespass Violations Sec. 50-170. Designation of Police to Enforce Trespass Violations. (a) The owner of real property in the Town of Pulaski, Virginia may designate the Pulaski Police Department as a "person lawfully in charge of the property" for the purpose of forbidding another to go on or remain upon the lands, buildings, or premises of the owner as specified in the designation. b An such desi nation shall be in writin on a form rescribed b th () Y 9 9 p y e Pulaski Police Department and must be on file with the Pulaski Police Department. (c) In the event of the sale, or change in ownership or title to properties designated under this section, the Pulaski Police Department shall be notified of such change in writing within seven (7) days of the transfer of ownership or title to the property. This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 6"' day of November 2007 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows: Jeffrey S.
