HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-02• Ordinance 2008-02 Approving A Special exception For Camelot Of Virginia • ADOPTED: January 8, 2008 EFFECTIVE: January 8.2008 ORDINANCE 2008-02 APPROVING A SPECIAL EXCEPTION FOR CAMELOT OF VIRGINIA WHEREAS, Camelot of Virginia applied for a special exception under Section 405.3-11 of the Zoning Regulations of the Town of Pulaski, to keep and board horses for use in therapeutic programs on its campus at 800 Ridge Avenue; and, WHEREAS, the subject property is zoned R-4 Residential District and is identified as Tax Map No. 072-092-0000-0007, 0008, 008A and is recorded in Deed Book 137, Page 183 and Deed Book 157, Pages 523 thru 526; and, WHEREAS, after advertisement required by law, the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on November 12, 2007 and Town Council conducted a public hearing on December 4, 2007 wherein the comments and concerns of the public were heard and the factors listed in Section 702.4-5 of the Town of Pulaski Zoning Regulations were considered by the Planning Commission and Town Council; and, WHEREAS, the Town Council did consider and found as fact that the proposed special exception is compatible with the surrounding uses, is consistent with the intent of the Zoning Regulations and the Comprehensive Plan, is in the public interest and will comply with other provisions of law and ordinances of the Town of Pulaski; and, NOW THEREFORE, be it ORDAINED by the Town Council sitting in regular session this 8th day • of January 2008, that the application of Camelot of Virginia for a special exception to keep and board horses for use in therapeutic programs at its campus, located at 800 Ridge Avenue, is hereby approved subject to the following conditions: • That there be at least two (2) acres per horse; fenced; • That there be at least one hundred (100) feet between structures, defined as barns and stables, and the property lines; and, • That the existing tree buffers be maintained. This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 8th day of January 2008 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows: Jeffrey S.
