ORDINANCE NO. 93- 24
Ordinance Closing a Section of Third Street, S. E., Between South Madison Avenue
and Floyd Avenue.
WHEREAS, Mr. Archie Booth has petitioned the Town Council to close a
portion of a Section of Third Street, S. E., Between South Madison Avenue and Floyd
Avenue.
WHEREAS, the street therein question is not developed; and

WHEREAS, closing the street will not impact the safety or convenience of
pedestrians or motorists; and
WHEREAS, Town Council conducted a public hearing on September 7, 1993,
after advertising as required by law, to consider the request, and in consideration of the
interests of the abutting landowners and the representations made at the hearing, the Town
finds it in their best interest that the street be closed; and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ORDAINED by the Town Council, Town of Pulaski,
Virginia, sitting in regular session on September 7, 1993, that the portion of Third Street,
SE., located between South Madison Avenue and Floyd Avenue, is hereby vacated and
closed to public use, except for that portion where it overlaps and interesects with an
existing public alley so that said alley will remain open for the length of the block.
Any public utility easements across the area to be closed, if any, which exist in
favor of the Town shall continue to exist in favor of the Town and are not abandoned by
this ordinance.
This ordinance is effective upon adoption this 7th day of September, 1993 and is adopted
by duly recorded vote of the Town Council as follows:
