(M-1 LIMITED INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT PERMITTED USES)
OF THE TOWN OF PULA5KI, VIRGINIA ZONING ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the purpose of the M-1 Limited Industrial District is to provide for a variety
of light manufacturing, fabricating, processing, wholesale distributing and warehousing
uses appropriately located for access by highways and providing a controlled environment
within which signing is limited, uses are to be conducted generally within completely
enclosed buildings or within screened areas, and a moderate amount of landscaping is
required. In order to preserve the land for industry, to reduce extraneous traffic, and
avoid future conflicts between industry and other uses, business and service areas are
limited primarily to those which will be useful to employees in the district and future
residential uses are restricted; and
WHEREAS, Article 4 Section 8.2 provides the permitted uses in the M-1 Limited
Industrial District; and
WHEREAS, after advertisement as required by law, the Planning Commission held a
public hearing on December 19, 1994 and recommended approval of the ordinance
• amendment with the following conditions: 1) these two requested uses would be
conditional uses; 2) allow "light" truck sales; and
WHEREAS, after advertisement as required by law, a public hearing was held by Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia on December 20, 1994; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration of the information before it as evaluated by
appropriate zoning standards, the Town Council finds that it is reasonable and suitable to
amend the subject sections of the Pulaski Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that the recommendation of the Planning
Commission promotes the health, safety and general welfare of the general public and
accomplishes the purposes set froth in the Code of Virginia, particularly Section 15.1-427
and Section 15.1-489, and promotes and is consistent with the other provisions of the
Town's land use plans, ordinances, and regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the COUNCIL of the TOWN OF
PULASKI, VIRGIlVIA, sitting in regular session on December 20, 1994, that:
Section 1. Article 4 Section 8.2.1 of the Pulaski Zoning Ordinance is amended to include:

repair, as a conditional use, but not auto salvage or junk, and any major
• repair or storage of equipment or materials or damaged vehicles shall be
inside a completely enclosed building.

not junk, and any storage of equipment or materials or damaged vehicles shall
be inside a completely enclosed building.
Section 2. This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of
the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia on this 20th day of December, 1994,
