ADOPTING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
WHEREAS, Town Council adopted the first Comprehensive Plan in 1984 and
the Planning Commission initiated its revision efforts in 1988, in part
due to the 1988 annexation; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Virginia Code Sections 15.1-446.1-457, the
Town of Pulaski Planning Commission and Town Council have reviewed and
amended the Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan has been prepared for the same purposes
as the 1984 Plan: to allow the community to examine its own values and to
translate these values into positive policies and goals for the future
development of the Town; and
WHEREAS, The Comprehensive Plan was presented to the people of Pulaski in
a series of public forums and adopted by the Pulaski Planning Commission
on December 18, 1990 after joint public hearings in May 1990 and December
1990.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of
Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular session on December 3, 1991, that
the Town Council should and hereby adopts the Comprehensive Plan, as
mended.
This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote
of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this 3rd day of
December, 1991 as follows:
