TOWN OF PULASKI, VIRGINIA
Ordinance Amending Article 4 Section 6.2 (Permitted Uses in the B-2
General Business District) of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia Zoning
Ordinance.
WHEREAS, the purpose of the B-2 General Business District is to
provide sufficient space in appropriate locations for a wide variety of
retail shopping, commercial, automotive, and miscellaneous recreational
and service activities, generally serving the Town, a wide area of the
County, and the travelling public and generally located along major
thoroughfares or near development centers; and
WHEREAS, Article 4 Section 6.2 provides the permitted uses in the
B-2 General Business District; and
WHEREAS, at its special meeting of June 24, 1992, Town Council
adopted Resolution 92-15, referring the proposed amendments to the
Zoning Ordinance to the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, a use in compliance with the conditional use additions
would be no more objectionable than other permitted uses in the B-2
(General Business District} because the use would not create any
hazardous, objectionable or offensive conditions outside the building by
any source, including but not limited to odor, dust, smoke, cinders,
fumes, noise, vibration, heat, glare, wastes, fire or explosion and the
use would be harmonious with such commercial uses in all significant
respects, including but not limited to signage, traffic flow, and
exterior appearance; and
WHEREAS, as a conditional use, the Planning Commission and Town
Council shall review applications on a case-by-case basis and may attach
reasonable conditions, if necessary, prior to the establishment of the
use; and
WHEREAS, after advertisement as required by law, the Planning
Commission held a public hearing on July 18, 1992 and recommended
approval of the ordinance amendments; and
WHEREAS, after advertisement as required by law, a public hearing
was held by Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on August 18,
1992; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration of the information before it as
evaluated by appropriate zoning standards, the Town Council finds that
it is reasonable and suitable to amend the subject sections of the
• Pulaski Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that the recommendation of the

Planning Commission promotes the health, safety and general welfare of
• the general public and accomplishes the purposes set forth in the Code
of Virginia, particularly Section 15.1-427 and Section 15.1-489, and
promotes and is consistent with the other provisions of the Town's land
use plans, ordinances and regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the COUNCIL of the TOWN OF
PULASKI, VIRGINIA, sitting in regular session on October 6, 1992, that:
Section 1. Article 4 Section 6.2 of the Pulaski Zoning Ordinance
is amended to include:
Wholesale brokerage or storage establishments with floor area
devoted to storage or warehousing of 20,000 square feet or more, as a
conditional use, but not a truck or freight terminal.
Light manufacturing, fabricating and processing operations within
completely enclosed buildings which do not produce hazardous,
objectionable, or offensive conditions outside the building by any
source, including but not limited to, odor, dust, smoke, cinders, fumes,
noise, vibration, heat, glare, wastes, fire, or explosion so that nearby
commercial uses are not adversely affected, and which are harmonious
with such commercial uses in all significant respects, including but not
limited to signage, traffic flow, and exterior appearance, as
conditional uses.
• Section 2. This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is adopted
by recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia on
this 6th day of October, 1992, as follows:
