ORDINANCE PERMITTING THE TEMPORARY LOCATION OF
PULASKI COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT FACILITIES
FOR APPROXIMATELY TWELVE MONTHS
AS CONDITIONAL USE
AT 1055 EAST MAIN STREET
WHEREAS, Pulaski County has requested permission for the temporary
location of Pulaski Court Circuit Court facilities for approximately
twelve months at 1055 East Main Street (Tax Map No. 072-001-0000-054A)
of the Town of Pulaski, Pulaski County, Virginia; and,
WHEREAS, during the expansion of the Circuit Court on Third Street,
the County must temporarily relocate the Circuit Court, General District
Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, Registrar and Adult
Probation Office. The County Administrator indicated that the
relocation impacts 19 full-time and 4 part-time employees. The offices
and employees must be relocated by January 1, 1993.
WHEREAS, the County will renovate approximately 15,000 square feet
of the subject site to accommodate the court facilities (Clerk's Office,
. Circuit Court, General District Court, Domestic Relations Court, Law
Library and offices for Judges and personnel}. The renovation includes
constructing interior walls, fire rated corridors, restrooms
(handicapped accessible) and creating an additional exterior exit.
WHEREAS, the County Administrator estimates that Circuit Court
construction will be completed in approximately 12 months and the
offices and employees will return to the Circuit Court around January
1994.
WHEREAS, the subject location is zoned B-2 (General Business) and a
governmental use requires a conditional use permit; and,
WHEREAS, after advertisement as required by law, the Planning
Commission held a public hearing on October 27, 1992 and recommended
approval of the conditional use; and,
WHEREAS, after advertisement as required by law, a public hearing
was held by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on
October 27, 1992, wherein the plans of the applicant and the concerns of
the neighbors were addressed;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of
Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular session on October 27, 1992, that
the application of Pulaski County to temporarily locate the Pulaski
County Circuit Court facilities for approximately twelve months at 1055
. East Main Street (Tax Map No. 072-001-0000-054A) as set forth in the
application submitted to the Town, is hereby approved as a conditional

use, without conditions other than those imposed by the B-2 Zone and any
other applicable laws and regulations.
• This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is adopted by
recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia on
this 27th day of October, 1992, as follows:
