HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-17• ORDINANCE N0. 96-17 SET'T'ING FC~dI 'lIIE CHARC,~S FOR SII~ S~tVICE • Adopted: May 21, 1996 Effective: After the June, 1966 Meter reading • • ORDINANCE NO.96-17 SETTING FORTH THE CHARGES FOR SEWER SERVICE BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in regular session on May 21, that the rates to be charged for sewer service shall be and hereby are, amended to read as follows: Charges for sewer service generally A. Sewer Rates Customers, other than those subject to the provisions of section B of this ordinance, shall pay a fixed charged based on the water meter size and a volume charge based on the actual amount of sewage discharged. 1. Volume Charge - In addition to the fixed charge, each customer shall pay for actual sewer discharged, rounded to the nearest thousand gallons, according to the following schedule: Volume Char a In-Town Out-of-Town Per thousand allons $ 2.96 $ 5.92 The in-Town fixed charge and volume charge shall apply to customers located within the corporate limits of the Town. The outside-Town fined charge and volume charge shall apply to customers located outside the corporate limits of the Town. The actual sewer discharged shall be calculated on the basis of water consumed. 3. Charges for sewer-only customers -Customers who discharge water not purchased from the Town, using town sewer service, shall be charged a 5,J8-inch fixed charge and a volume charge of 5,000 gallons. If the Town determines that a sewer only customer is discharging more than that amount, the Town reserves the right to • estimate the sewer discharged according to general engineering principals. 3d3 • B. Rates for multi-family dwelling units, mobile home parks, commercial buildings The owners, lessees of buildings and all persons or corporations constructing and operating multifamily housing units, trailers, or mobile home parks, commercial or business buildings have the option of installing a master meter or individually metering units. If a master meter is used, the consumer shall pay a fixed charge based upon meter size and a volume charge based upon the actual sewage discharged. If the units are individually metered, but under one account, the owner or lessee shall pay a fixed charge for each meter based upon meter size and a volume charge based upon the actual sewage discharged. If the units are individually metered and under separate accounts, each individual account shall pay a fixed charge based on meter size and a volume charge based upon the actual sewage discharged. C. Effective Dates The fixed charge and volume charge shall apply to sewer discharged by customers after the June 1996 meter reading. These rates shall remain in effect until revised by Town Council. All other fees relating to sewer service shall remain in full force and effect.
