HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-07• • Adopted: March 4, 1997 Effective: March 4, 1997 ORDINANCE N0. 97-7 ADOPTING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN • • ORDINANCE NO. 97-7 ADOPTING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN • WHEREAS, Town Council adopted the first Comprehensive Plan in 1984; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the Virginia Code Section 15.1-446.1-454, the Town of Pulaski Planning Commission has reviewed the Comprehensive Plan, held a public hearing on December 9, 1996, and recommended amendments, and; WHEREAS, the Town Council received the recommendations of the Planning Commission and held a public hearing on the proposed amended Comprehensive Plan on February 4, 1997; WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan has been prepared for the same purposes as the 1984 Plan: to allow the community to examine its own values and to translate these values into positive policies and goals for the future developmerrt of the Town; NOW, THEREFORE be it ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, sitting in regular session on March 4, 1997, that the Town Council should and hereby adopts the Comprehensive Plan, as amended pursuant to the recommendations of the Planring Commission. This Ordinance is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia on this 4th day of March, 1997, as follows: Joseph L. Weddle - ~e W. Johnston, yor • Attest: Ruth A. Harrell Clerk of Council 409 • AMENDMENTS TO TOWN OF PULASKI COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ADOPTED MARCH 4, 1997 BY UNANIMOUS VOTE OF TOWN COUNCIL 1. The corrections as requested by Samuel D. Campbell, Atty-At-Law, concerning the property bounded by the Norfolk and Western Railway and the existing business zoning from Wilcos and Wendy's east to slightly beyond Food Lion in the Pulaski Plaza be corrected on the proposed General Land Use Map and in the text, if there be any, regarding the same land, to show the land M2 as it is currently zoned on the zoning map. 2. That the zoning on the corridor adjacent to the West bound lanes of Route 11 from the June Tennis, et al, property line on Pleasant Hill Drive to the top of Hall's Hill near Memorial Drive reflect the current Rl zoning as in the existing zoning map, in order to protect the current residences along this corridor. 410 • • I, Ruth A.
