OF MCCREADY LUMBER, 1250 E. MAIN STREET

• ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE
FOR AN AUTO SALVAGE YARD AT THE FORMER SITE
OF MCCREADY LUMBER, 1250 E. MAIN 5T.
WHEREAS, Joseph Slaughter and Anthony Saunders, agents; H.A. and Karen
McCready, owners, submitted an application for a conditional use permit to
establish an auto salvage yard at the former site of McCready Lumber, 1250 E. Main
Street, Pulaski, VA; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the property is zoned M-2 (General Industrial District) and is
identified as Tax Map No. 0?2-001-0000-053; and
WHEREAS, in the M-2 District, the proposed activity is adjudged as requiring a
conditional use permit according to the zoning regulations of the Town; and
WHEREAS, after advertisement as required by law, the Planning Commission and
Town Council conducted public hearings on December 11, 2000 and January 9, 2001
respectively, wherein the comments and concerns of the public were heard, and;
WHEREAS, at its December 11, 2000 meeting, the Planning Commission
• recommended approval of the conditional use with conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ORDAIlVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia sitting in regular session on February 6, 2001, that the application of Joseph
Slaughter and Anthony Saunders, agents; H.A, and Karen McCready, owners; for a
conditional use to operate an auto salvage yard at 1250 E. Main St. is hereby
approved with the following conditions:
1. No more than 300 vehicles or parts thereof be on the site;
2. Such vehicles or parts thereof may not remain on the site for more than 90 days;
3. That the 23 acres of greenway buffer shall be maintained and excluded from the
conditional use as shown in shown in Attachment A.
This use is subject to other restrictions imposed by the M-2 zoning district and any
other applicable laws and regulations.

This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the
Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia on this 6~` day of February, 2001 as

I, Patricia Pendergrast, Clerk of Council, certify that the foregoing Ordinance 2001-02,
approving a conditional use for an auto salvage yard at the former site of McCready
Lumber, 1250 E. Main St., is a true and correct copy as adopted by the Pulaski Town
Council at their regular meeting on February 6, 2001.
