For a Truck Salvage Yard at the Former Site

• ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE
FOR A TRUCK SALVAGE YARD AT THE FORMER SITE
OF THE KING COAL YARD, 616 FIRST ST., N.E.
WHEREAS, David A. and Anne S. Woodyard, agents; Truck Specialty Shop, Inc,
owner, submitted an application for a conditional use permit to establish a truck
salvage yard at the former site of the King Coal Yard, 616 First St., N.E., in the Town
of Pulaski, VA, as shown in Attachment A; and
WHEREAS, the property is zoned M-2 (General Industrial District) and is identified
as Tax Map No. 072-0028-0000-028, 029, 030, 031, 032, 033, 034, 035, 036, 037, 038,
039; as shown in Attachment B; and
WHEREAS, in the M-2 District, the proposed activity is adjudged as requiring a
conditional use permit according to the zoning regulations of the Town; and
WHEREAS, after advertisement as required by law, the Planning Commission and
Town Council conducted public hearings on January 8, 2001 and February 6, 2001
respectively, wherein the comments and concerns of the public were heard, and;
• WHEREAS, at its January 8, 2001 meeting, the Planning Commission recommended
approval of the conditional use with conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia sitting in regular session on March 6, 2001, that the application of David A.
and Anne S. Woodyard, agents; Truck Specialty Shop, Inc., owner; for a conditional
use to operate salvage yard at the location formerly known as the King Coal Yard,
identified as Tax Map No. 072-0028-0000-028 through 039, is hereby approved with
the following conditions:
1. No more than 30 vehicles or parts thereof be on the site;
2. Such vehicles or parts thereof may remain on the site for not more than 120 days;
3. That the owner shall provide for and maintain an effective visual buffer area. A
map shall be provided by the applicant to the Town Engineer adequately
describing the visual buffer to the satisfaction of the Town Engineer within 60
days of the effective date hereof.
This use is subject to other restrictions imposed by the M-2 zoning district and any
other applicable laws and regulations.

This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the
• Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia on this 6`~ day of March, 2001 as
