g year is
562,219. The real estate tax, personal property tax and the utility tax
increases will raise approximately 5177,000. This would give us an
approximate surplus of 580,000. The Town shows a deficit of about
$62,000 in the water fund for next year and in the sewer fund, we are
showing a deficit of about 5137,000. With the proposed increases, a
slight surplus will be realized. The flows to Peppers Ferry this year
utilized our surplus.
In hearing from the public, Mr. J. B. Warner was informed that tax
increase would take effect immediately, with increase in utility taxes
requiring 60 days notice. On new properties, it is hoped that $30,000
will be realized from Renfro, Pulaski Village and Memorial Square.
Mr. Jim Reynolds stated he was sick of tax increases and it was
costing him more and more each year to run his business. Mrs. Carolyn
