Minutes of the regular semi.-monthly meeting of the
Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, held on the 17th day of
December, 1957, at 4 p. m., in the municipal office.
Noland.
There were present: Mayor C. V. Jackson, presiding.
Councilmen: W. A. Larson, W. F. White, J. R. Martin,
F. L. Carrico, W. S. Cummings, I. R.
Carper
Absent: W. H. U'ysor, A. E. Lemons
Also present: Town Manager: T. B. Noland
Clerk: Gladys R, Dalton
Town l~ttorney: Garnett S. Moore
Visitors: Evelyn Hall of the Southwest Times
C. L. Whitehurst of the C & P Telephone Co.

The meeting was opened with a prayer by Town Managex•
The minutes of the regular meeting held December 3rd, and
special meeting of December 4th, were approved.

Mayor Jackson welcomed Mr. `°Jhitehurst and Mr. Hillsman,
Mr. Hillsman, Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce,
appeared before Council in behalf of the Pulaski Model Railroad Club,
to request its approval to the placing of an N & W Railway steam

development of Pulaski County and Southwest Virginia.
Councilman Carrico made a motion that the matter be
faced on the agenda for discussion and action at this meeting, wh5,ch
motion was seconded by ?~J. ~. Larson, 1?owever, the motion did not
carry by a two-thirds majority vote of the members present, and no
action was taken.
On motion of W. F. Tnihite, seconded by W. A. Larson, it
wa.s unanimously
RESOLVED that the matter of a~retirement plan for
