Minutes of an adjourned meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, held on the 17th day of July, 1958, .at 4 p. m., in the Municipal office. There were present: Mayor C. V~ Jackson, presiding Councilmen; W. F. White, A. E. Lemon-s, F'. L. Carrico, W. S. Cummings, I. R. .Carper Absent; W. A. Larson, J. R. Martin, W. H. Wysor Also present: Town Manager: T. B. Noland Clerk; Gladys R. Dalton Town Attorney: Garnett S. Moore Visitors: Evelyn S. Hall of the Southwest Times The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jackson .~_ and Councilman Carrico gave the invocation. After a discussion of naming and renaming of certain streets, on motion of W. F'. White, seconded by A. E. Lemons, and unanimously carried, the following names were adopted for streets in the Town; (1) No name (near Keister home, Northwood) ~ Named; Hillcrest Street (2) Clark Street, N. E. RENAMING OF CERTAIN Named: STREETS (3) No Name Named: (4) No name Named: Baywood Street (eastern most street .in Brown Adn) East Street (behind Vaughan Monument Go.) Hemlock Avenue (5) Water Street Named: Johnson Street On motion of I. R. Carper, and seconded by F. L. Carrico, and unanimously carried, it was resolved COMMITTEE that the Mayor appoint a committee to work out the details APPOINTED TO WORK OIIT of the employe picnic . DETAILS OF EMPLOYE PICNIC It was the decision of Council that no change be made in the previous selection of the Mountain Park area NO CHANGE MADE as the site for the proposed new Armory. IN SELECTION OF MT. Mr. Noland further advised that the opening of RAINES HOLLOW CLEARING BTDS To ~ OPENED the bids on the clearing o:f the Raines Hollow reservoir JULY 24 TH area would be held in the Council chamber on July 24th, _ at 11 a. m. and it was felt that the second bids w o~zld be lower. It was also pointed out that it was felt that it would be to the towns advantage to construct a new pumping station and collection basin on Peak Creek at a cost of approximately X20,000. to be charged to bond issue anal on motion of W, F~ White, seconded by A. ~. Lemons, anal unanimously carried, it was ,, AUTHORIZED THE CONSTRUCTION OF RESOLVED, that the repair to the dam which serve NEW PUMPING STATION ON PEAK CREEK. as a collection basin, be made and also construction of a new pumping station on Peak Creek, to replace the temporary pump station which was built in 1955. The Town Attorney advised that Council should be` ready to meet at a moments notice soon in regard to pending Bond Issue proceedings . The Town manager reported that Contractor M. S. Hudgins had stated on the day of the meeting that he hoped" RAINES HOLLOW CONSTRUCTION to begin construction of the Raines Hollow Dam within ten TO GET UNDERWAY IN ABOUT 10 DAYS days . The Town Manager explained the background involving a situation wherein the Town Planning Commission had in a regular and also a called meeting considered a subdivision proposal of Mr. Marry Aust and had on each occasion turned down the proposal.
