COUNCIL MINUTES Pulaski, Virginia, May 21, 1956, 4 p.m.
A special meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
SPECIAL MEETING
Virginia, was held in the municipal offices at 4 p.m. on May 21,
1956.
There were present:

Councilmen W. F. White, J. R., Martin, C. T. Brookman
Also present: Town Manager: J. F. Hirst
Town Attorney: G. S. Moore

The Mayor opened the meeting by stating this was a Special..

SPECIAL the purpose of considering the revised water study report and the

revised sewerage system improvement report as prepared and submitted
to the members of the Town Council b~* the consulting Engineering
Firm of Wiley & 'vTilson, Lynchburg, Virginia, in accordance with the
commission of the Council as recorded in previous minutes.
There was some general discussion of the water study report in
development of new sources of supply for the Town through the con=

the sewerage system improvement report which had been developed on
the basis of a one million dollar bond issue to be proposed to the
which the engineers had outlined a proposed program for the
voters by a special referendum election at a very ear],y date.
As a number of quest3.ons arose which could not be answered in
the absence of the authors- of the report, it was the decision of
those members of Council present that Mr. Martin Johnson of Wiley
& Wilson be contacted and asked to come to Pulaski for a special
meeting of the Council to be called at his convenience.
The Town Manager submitted to~to the Council the proposed budget

OF PROPOSED for the fiscal operation of the Town during the year 1956-57. The
BUDGET 1956-57
Mayor stated it would be necessary for the Council to hold meetings
as early as practical to consider the recommended budget and the

adoption of a formal budget for the forthcoming fiscal year.
