Segt. 1, 1956 At a regular municipal election held for the Town of Pulaski Virginia, dune ~, 1954, the following officers were elected for terms beginning September 1, 1956. Mayor C. V. Jackson 1 In accordance with the Charter amendment which had been approved by the 1956 Legislature, Town Attorney Moore outlined the procedure for drawing lots to determine the four c®uncilmen who aha].1 serve two year terms and which four councilmen shall serve four year terms. Each Councilman then drew his own lot and after the d~awiag each councilman read off his lot. - Those who drew terms of two years are as follows I. R. Carper, A. E. Lemons, W. H. Wysor, Jr., and F. L. Garrico. Thosewho drew terms of four years are as followss W. F. White, W. A. Larson, J. R. Martin and W. S. Cummings. The Mayor-elect and the councilmen-elect, having duly C. qualified before the Clerk of the Circuit Conn of Pulaski Couaty, Virginia, as provided by Section IX of the Town of Pulaski Charter of 19L,$, a meeting was held this the 1st day of September, 1956, at 1Os00 a. m. in the Town offices. There were presents Mayor C. V. Jackson, presiding Councilmens I. R. Carper, W F. Whine, W. A. Larson, J. R. Mania, #. E. Lemons, W. H. Wysor, Jr., F. L. Carric©, W. S. Cummings Also presents Town Managers T. B. Noland Town Attorneys Garnett S. Moore Acting Clerks Gladys R, Da7.ton The Mayor called upon Rev. G. M. Ogilvie fcr an ©pening prayez. Mayor C. V. Jackson welcomed new councilmen Cummings, Carrico, Lemons aril Wysor. 1 On motion duly made by J. R. Martin, seconded by I. R. Carper, Gladys R. Daltoa was appointed Acting Clerk of Coursed for this meeting. ~ On motion duly made by W. A. Larson, seconded by I. R. POWERS, were cast Fonr Hundred Sixty-seven (467) votes. FOR W. H. WYSOR, dr., were case Five Hundred Nineteen (519) votes. FOR 0. 0. CROWELL, were cast Three Hundred Thirty-four (334) votes. We, the ubdersign~.Commiasioners of Election held in the Town of Pulaski on Tuesday, June 12, 1956, do certit~r that the above is a true and correct abstract frc~®a the return of said election, and do, therefore, determine and declare that C. V. datakson received the highest rwmber of votes cast at said election for Mayor of said Town; that W. A. Larson, ii. F. mite, I. R. Carper, d.. Ralph Martin, A. E. Lemmons, Woodson Cta®mings, Fred Carrico and W. H. Wysor, dr., received the highest number of votes cast at said election for members of the Council of said Town. Accordingly, we do certify that C. Y. Jackson is du],y elected Mayor of said Town and W. A. Larson, W. F. White, I. R. Carper, d. Ralph Martin, A. E. Lemons, Woodson Cummings, Fred Carrico anti W. H.
