Council Minutes ~ Pulaski Va. 4:30 p.m. Sept. 21,1956
The minut®s of a special meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Pulaski' Virginia, held on the 21st day of September,
1956, at 1,.:30 p. .m. in the municipal offices.
There were presents
Mayor C. V. Jackson, presiding
Gouncilmens F. L. Carrico, A. E. Lemons, W. F. White,
J. R. Martin, W. A. Larson, W. S. Cummings,
W. H. Wysor, Jr.
Absents Councilman Z. R. Carper.
Also presents Town Managers T. B. Noland
Clerks Audrey T. Kingrea
Visitors: Evelyn S. Hall, Reporter for the Southwest Times.
The meeting was opened with ,a prayer by the Town Manager.
Mayor Jackson stated the purpose of this special meeting
was to appoirst viewers for the purpose of reporting to Council
the advisability of diacontinuing a portion of Third Street,
extended, as requested by Coleman Furniture Corporation.
Council agreed to appoint three viewers and two alter-
Hates.

On motion duly made by J. R. Martin, seconded by W. H.
Wysor, Jr., it was unanimously
R~OLYID, that Harry Roberts be appointed first alternate
and Walter Brookmeyer second alternate in the event either of the
three original viewers should for any reason decline to act.
Mayor Jackson advised Counci]. that Mr. W. M. Johnson
of Wiley & Wilson would be in Pulaski on Monday, October 8,
to meet with a group of citizens to begin an educational
program on the proposed bond issue.
Mayor Jackson appointed Councilmen White, Cummings, arxi
Martin as a Committee to make preparations for the meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 5x15 p. m.
