Feb. 19,1957, ~- P•m• Minutes of the regular semi-monthly meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginias held on the 19th day of February, 1957, at ~+ p. m. in the Municipal office. There were present: Mayor C. V. Jackson, Presiding. Councilmen: W. F. Whitey W. A. Larson J. R. Martin, W. H. Wysor~ F. L. Carrico, W. S. Cummings Also present: Town Manager: T. B. Noland Clerk: Audrey E. Kingrea Town Attorney: Garnett S. Moore Visitors: Mrs. Thomas G. DeShazo Mrs. Bob Wallace Eve.yn S. Halls Reporter The minutes of the regular meeting of February 5 were approved. Councilman Carrico, on behalf of the Appalachian Electric Power Company, said the Company would present the Town with a gauge to measure water in Peak Creek the gauge to be located dust above ~iashington Street Bridge. Mayor Jackson accepted the gauge for the Town and expressed his appreciation to Mr. Carrico and the Appalachian. A letter from Mr. E. G. Hilly Superintendent of Jefferson Wills, was read, wherein Mr. Hill expressed the appreciation of his firm for storage facilities in the Bunts building and told of the Comparry's increased employment. The Town Manager advised that in his meeting with Mr. G. C. Hall, Mr. Hall stated that the persons with interest in Peak Creek were willing~to deed the channel to the Town, as well as their interest in certain alleys provided the Towr would in turn deed to them the vacant lot at the northeast corner of Randolph Avenue and Fourth Street, which they formerly held title to. No decision was reached on the matter and Council ex- . pressed desire to have it put on the agenda for the next regular meeting. Council minutes contd. ', Bob Wallace, President of the Junior spoke to the Council on the importance of and requested that the Town provide a room headquarters for Civil Defense. On motion ings,, seconded by W. F. White, it was RESOLVED, that the front room of the Bunts Building be made available as the headquarters for Civil Defense, On motion of W. F. White, seconded by F. L. Carrico, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that the Town Manager procure all information possible on changing the charnel of Peak Creek. Martin, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that the schedules submitted to the Cou,~cil under date of February 11 for construction of water and s eirer lines on the area proposed for annexation is hereby accepted by the Council. The Town Attorney was requested to study the proposed changes in the Zoning Ordinancebefore final adoption. It was decided by the Council that a special meeting should be held at 4 p. m.
