Council Minutes Pulaski, Virginia, May 19, 1953
The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia was held in the
Municipal Building at 4 p.m., May 19, 1953.
PRESENT There were present:
Mayor C. V. Jackson, presiding
Councilmen: I. R.Carper, 0. 0. Crowell,
J. C.Crumbley,Jr., J.L.Kesling,
W'. A. Larson, W'.F.White.
Absent: F.~1f'.Marshall, J.R.Martin.
Also present:
Town Manager: Julian F. Hirst
Clerk: Louise D. Logan
Town Attorney: Garnett S. Moore
Town Treasurer:Lottie R. Runion
Visitors : J. W. Smith

before the Clerk of the Pulaski County Circuit Court,
prior to the meeting, assumed positions with the
assembled Council.
1V(INUTES The Minutes of the regular meeting held
May 5, 1953 were read and approved.
~¢~ The Mayor welcomed William A. Larson, newly
v appointed Councilman from the First V~'ard.
J.1~.SMITH Mr. J. W'. Smith appeared to present reasons

DEL.TAXES held by him for failure to pay Town taxes as assessed
against his property on Park Avenue for a number of years.
He stated that the street and water line had been installed
and maintained by him after being advised by Town authori-
ties that the property was out of the corporate limits,
and it was his opinion that the amount expended by him
should be considered as a credit against taxes owed by
him. He stated, upon cancellation of taxes against him,
he then would sign an agreement with the Town, presently
pending, to deed to the Town a 25 ft. Right-of-way for
Park Lane and Haney Street. The matter was referred to
the Town Manager for further report.
On motion duly made by I. R. Carper,
seconded by J. C. Crumbley, Jr., it was unanimously
