White and carried by a unanimous vot®, the following ordinance was adopted: AN ORDINANCE ON PROFANE SEARING AND DRUNE~NESS If aag person arrived at the age of discretion profanelg.curse or swear or get or be drunk in public he shall be deemed guiltg of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not 1®ss than one nor more than ten dollars. If any person shall be convicted for being drunk in put~7.ic three times within one gear in this tat®, in violation of either State Statue, Countg or Municipal Ordinance, upon the third or any subsequent conviction for such offense within the period of one gear,. such person nag be punished bg imprisonment in fail not more than six months or by a fine of not more than Twentg-five dollars, or by both such fine and imprison~nsnt. The Town Attorneg generally reviewed recent contemplated changes to the gal leg pro©t of th® Town Code relating to the curfew ordinance ®Stablishing a morning tour, the ordinance restricting parking on 'U. Moore MINUTES The Biinutes of the regular monthly meeting held July 6 and the semi-monthly meeting held July 13, 1954 were read and approved. On motion duly made by J. R. ffiartin, seconded by I.R. Carper, it was unanimously Spp~I~ RESOLVED, that the Street Committee submit a proposal as to policy Por surfacing alleys in business district and policy for surfacing alleys in residential areas immediately adjacent to the business district, within the near future. On motion duly made by w. A. Larson, .seconded by I. R. Carper, it was unanimously A~Ey RESOLVED, that the Town proceed with surfacing 2-3 of the alley between Second and Third Streets, e:ctending eastward from Pulaski Vance Company, Inc. On motion duly made by J.C. Crumbley, seconded by J.R. Martin, it was unanimously POLICY RESOLVED, that the Street Committee recommend STREET SURF. a policy on surfacing streets in subdivisions at an ®arly SUBD IVS date. TOwN CffDE The Town Attorney stated he had prepared a memorandum of changes to the galley proof of the Tows Cade, which changes had been presented at the last meeting of the Council, to be forwarded to the ffiichie City Publica- tions Company with the galley proof 0n August 3, 1954. He stated to Council that action taken at the present meeting would be the last on the Code before printing. On motion duly made by w. F. white, seconded by A.
