LOTTIER BOTTOM John Patterson and Mrs. ffi'illiam Baker appear~ki PETITION FOR V~ATER before the Council in regard to a petition that had been f$ied by residents of the Lottier Bottom section last ar d6ti ye , requ ng water service be extended to their area. They were advisee that no consideration had been given so far this year to outstanding water _petitions, but that the Council would reciea the matter and review thmse petitions. ~ a! Martin, it was unanimously RESOLVID, that the Council reject a request made by Lonnie Bryson for the construction of new steps leading to his pro~ierty on the north side of 16th Street, Horth. He advised that the records were now being prepay®d from which assessment would be made on the monthly and quarterly water billing. In the discussion that followed, it was agreed by the members of the Ccnascil that the previous decision made by the Council to assess individual occupants of apartments- be.with- drawn and in lieu thereof, the owner of apartment houses consisting of two or more units be assessed with garbage collection Ease, based on the established scale of charges. Lester, it was unanimously RESOLVID, that the AppalachianElectric Power Compa~y ~_ be requested to install Pour lights to be located; one on °f Columbia Drive, one at Hellvue Terrace and 5th Satre®t; 1 at Bellvue Terrace and 6th street and one on IIpland Drive. STREAM BED The question of cleaning out the stream b®d from Bf~tLING COURT Rockwell~s Market to Pal.aski Esso station was discussed. It ~aa r the conaenaus of Council that the responsibility of cleaning he stream bed within the Bowling Court property would rest with ~he property owners in Bowling Court and that, should they desir~ the work to be done, such work would be done by~ ot~ier than Torn forces. The Town Manager stated that it was proposed that as early as practical, the Town would clean out underneath of th Washington Avenue culvert at Pulaski Es so and would request t~e ~iiting.0il Company to handle in a similiar manner the stream~llbed to their service-station driveway. CHRISTMAS The matter of Christmas decorations was brought be~ore DECORATIONS the Council by the Town Manager with agreement by the Councilithat the decorations for the coming Christmas .season should Follow'the ~, general pattern as used in the past several years, and that ~' e~p®nditures should remain within the X500.00 as appropriatedin the 1954-55 budget. Haney for the construes- Lion and extension of sidewalk work on Newborn Road, on the same basis as the agreements which have been completed with Mr. F. F. i!'srd and Mr. Bert Akers. ~TARD REQUEST The Town Manager reported that Mr. Ben Ward S IDEN~'ALK ON MAC GILL AVE had r®quested consideration by the Town of the construction of a sidewalk on Macgill Avenue (Brown Addition road from the termination of the present N®wbern Road sidewalk to the road leading off of Macgill Avenue through Claremont °School). A portion of such a sidewalk to be situated in front of Mr. Ben lard+s property. This matter xas referred t® the Street Committee for their investigation. On motion duly made by 11~'. A. Larson, seconded by M. E. Lester, it was unanimously, RESOLtTTION RESOLVID, that an appropriate resolution be PREPARED J.FRANR prepared on behalf of the Town in memory of the late ~tYSOR J. Frank Wys err, Treasurer of Pulaski County, and that such a resolution be directed to the relatives of Mr. ~-ysor and to the Southwest Times for publication. The Mayor appointed a Committee consisting of M.E. Lester, J. R. Martin and 1~. M. Farmer for the puz°poae of preparing such a resolution, with tlae assistance oP t h~i Town Attorney. Washington Avenue had advised him that the garbage cllec- tion truck had missed its regular pickup ache-doled at his house on several r' scent occasions .
