Thomas The minutes of the regular monthly meeting 1951 were read and approved. ' iN`. L. Thomas, agent for the North America Co$r-pany, discussed carrying workman's compensation insuran~e ~ for the Town, particularly in regard to the Councils prev us i action, cancelling the policy with his comp a1y, and placin it with the Texas Mutual Company. Crowell: Aye, " the following resolution -was not carried: ' RESOLVED, that the Town-s workman-s c'ompen- ' sat ion insurance policy be placed with the Texas Company, in accordance with the previous action of the Council, instead of continuing with the North ;erica Insurance Company. CURB AND G{TTTER ~ - A petition for concrete curb and gutter on 10th STREET APPRO VED the north. side and south side of 10th Streets, N. W., between Jefferson and Randolph Avenues, agreeing to pay one- half of the actual cost of construction, based on actual footage, was presented, signed by all residents on 10th Street, exeBpt for Mrs. Haislip. ' On motion duly made by 0. 0. Crowell, seconded by J.R. Martin, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that concrete curb•and gutter be installed on the north and mouth sides.of 10th Street, N. W., between Jefferson and Randolph Avenues, provided that all the gbutting property owners agree to pay one-half " the actual cost, based on their respective frontage. It Is Further Resolved, that an appro- ' priation of Fifteen Hundred 01,500.00) Dollars be mad® 'from the General Funds °to °cover this project. EAST END ~ The Town Manager reported that the owner FRUIT STAND of the East End Fruit Stand had removed most of the building, ' but requested that permission be granted to continue using the"main building. On motion duly made by W. F. White, seconded by G. R. Steger, it was unanimously FRANK MITE RESOLVED, that the monthly salary of Frank SALARY White as caretaker at Hogan-s Dam be continue d. until the next regular Council meeting due to be held on February 6th. On motion duly made by G. R-. Steger, seconded by J. R. Pulask i, Va. , Jan. 23, 19 (1) It shall be unl.Awful for any person other than the proper town officials or town employees whose duty it s scj to do, to turn on and off any fire hydrant without first o tain- ing a permit from the Treasurer of the Town of Pulaski. (2) Any person, persons, firm or corporation desiring to fill a storage tank or tank wagon with water f fire hydrant shall first be required to pay to the Treasur the Town of Pulaski a charge of One Dollar 01.00) for ,the opening. and closing of the fire hydrant, and shall pay at time a minimum charge of One Dollar 01.00) per load for, e thousand (1,000 ) gallons of water or any fraction thereof. (3) The Town Manager shall designate such pe as he desires for the purpose of turning on and off said hydrants. (4) Upon the payment of the necessary fees, Treasurer shall issue permit or memorandum ~ thorizing de; of said water to the purchaser. PARKING N. The matter of parking on Randolph Avenue, be RANDOLPH 10th and 11th Streets by persons making calls at the hosp was discussed. It was reportedthat Mrs. Fred T. Albert a; A. L.1Nilliams complained about the noise, littered groun requested that parking be prohibited. In this connection Town Manager advised that Mrs. F. J. Lugar, manager of a store in the vicinity, had stated that prohibiting parkin affect her business. This matter was referred to the Pol Department and the Town Manager to attempt to work out a factory arrangement without prohibting parking, except on for safety. F. ~9hite, seconded by J. R. Martin, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that parking space for two busses SEER AND CATER EXT. NINTH ST. POLLUTION ABATEMENT PROGRAM ADJOURIdMEN'3.' be marked off on the south side of Commerce Street, immediately west of Wadi ington Avenue for the use of inter-urban busses with regular pickups in the town, with a limit of forty-five minutes for loading and unloading within the space allowed. On motion duly made by 0. 0. Crowell, seconded by J. R. Martin, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that the Town install approx- imately two hundred feet of sewer on Ninth Street, N. W., extending from Jefferson Avenue to the Bob W+sllace property, and a l-1/2n water line, extending off of Randolph Avenue for a distance of approximately 250 lineal feet to said property, provided that the property owner pay in advance, a connection charge of One Hundred (100.00) Dollars in adaition to any other regular cost, and'further, that an appropriation of Two- Hundred Fifty (250.00) Dollars be made from the General Funds to cover the sewer extension and Two~Hundred Fifty (250.00) Dollars from the Water Fund for the water line. The pollution abatement program, and the State Water Control Boardis Regulation No. 1, regarding quarterly reports,were discussed.
