Committee had visited the site for proposed bridge for Maple Avenue, and had discus aed the matter with property owners, regarding relocation of tshe creek bed to provide a more direct route, and to require less bridge. It was stated that Mrs. '8'thel Carter was aggr~eeable to relarcatiott of the creek on the east side of Maple A~e ue through her property, in such manner as the Town deemed necessary, and that Dr. M.A. Santa Cruz had inc~t. sated ttta.tr he would agree to relocate the creek on the west side of Maple Avenue through hia property, pro- vided apipe or culvert be extended through his property and covered, and that he would participate in one-half of the cost of this. The possibilities of constructing a metal culvert at Pulaski Street to serve as an entrance to the James Hill section was discussed, and it was reported that this c ®ul d be done at considerably less cost than the improvement on Maple Street. It was determined that, in view of the extensive amount of Work involved, and that the matter of financing r should be considered, that this matter be deferred until the budget for the current year is prepared. f,; ~s~. FIDERAL The matter of I~bderal tTrban Funds for Palaski was BAH ~1rTDS discussed, and it was reported that, unless a project was and®~!! ,; the program by July 1, approximately thirteen thous and dollars ':': of the total funds allocated to be reapportioned to some other comanunities. The possibilites of a bypass within the corporate; limits, pr eviously-discussed,. wax considered. The possibilities of using these funds for widening of Dora Highway, Route 99, ws;~ discussed, and it was stated that it was probable that this mi~t be elgible under the Federal IIrbaa Aid Program, however, the standards required would be .more stringent than those of a S':tat~ Improvement Project. It was pointed out that under the state .. program, the Town shat®d fifty-fifty in the cost, and under they Federal IIrban. Aid program, the town shared 25~ of the cost, ®xc~pt on right-of-way, which percentage was slightly higher. 4n motion duly made by H. Steger, it was unanimously PR~IAT~ILON RESOLVID, that a supplemental appropriation of Two Hundred ~~200.00~ollars be provided to Recount 9027 for traffic signal at Srd Street and Jef~er~on Avenue. The matter of tri~ning trees at Oakwood Cemetery, and a proposal of the Bartlett Company for this work was presented, also~a prpposal to seed and lim9 certain section of_the ground was dicussed.
