Crowell, it was unanimously BUILDING RESOLVEfl, that the matter of application for PERMIT APPLIC. R.A.BROCK building permit of R. A. Brock for two story 18x26 store DEFERF~ED building with two two-room apartments second floor on the northwest side of Alt®ona Heights in front of residence at 431 Altoona Road, estimated to cost X2,500.00, be referred to the Town Attorney for consideration as to the matter of Right-of-way. Carper, it was unanimously RBP ~ - RE30LVED, that an ordinance approved January 6, 1949, restricting parking on North MadisonAvenue on the west side between Third Street and an alley north of Colman Furniture Corpcr ation •be and hereby is repealed, and be it further ORDINANCE- ORDAINED, that parking on North Madison Avenue PARKING N. MADISON on the west side -for a distance of approximately five car AVENUE " spaces, located approximately in Pront of the Coleman Furniture Corporation offices, between Third Street and Fifth Streets, shall be restricted to one hour between the hours of 8 a:m.-and 6 p.m. and all days except Sundays and official holidays. Enforcement " of this ordinance •shall be in the same manner as other traffic ordinances. Violation of the ordinance sha31 constitute a-misdemeanor, and shall - be punishable in the same manner as misdemeanors are punished under State Law. FIFTH ST. The matter of proposed ordinance restricting PAl~ ING ORDINANCE parking on Fifth Street, between Prospect and Washington DEFERRED Avenues was discussed; and it was reported that" the work on the R. SEWER EXTENSION The request from Peyton Grogan for sewer extension~~on EI (~iTH STREE'T' WEST OF Eighth Street was presented. R. Imboden, seconded by _ GY-ogan I. R. Carper, it was unanimously _ BUSINESS LICENSE Western Union BUSINESS LICENSES PENDING F/1949 MRS. CONSTANCE MEREDITH RANDOLPH AVENUE WIDENING PROJECT Tyro Hundred Seventy Five (~275.00)~Dollars be appropriated from the General Fund. A request from the Western Union Telegraph Company for .reduction in license tax rate was presented. This matter w~s~ discussed and no action was taken. The matter of certain other licenses on the dafrie~ ~~ and on the Texas Company for oil distributoris license for ~,f`he year 1949 was discussed. In view of the fact that these had not l been paid, on motion duly made by H. R. Imboden, seconded b~ G. R. Steger, and carried by a vote of six to one (6-1), it~ as RESOLVED, that the Town Manager be instructed to n tify Farris Brothers Dairy, the Clover Creamery Company, and th Texas Company that the matter of business licenses for tY~e {ear 1949 pending should be paid without delay, and that failureaGto pay should be reported to the Council. The Town Attorney reported that Mrs. Constance Meredith had been contacted concerning payment of cost on s~de- walk on Jefferson Avenue, and that ~e had s tated that the p~livate ' ~; drive, which the Torrn had installed, was not satisfactory. ~~ The Town Attorney reported that all of the propert~ owners on Randolph Avenue, affected by the widening pro~ect~ had been contacted, and that they had favorably indicated approval of easements required, but that some difficulty ha~ dev®loped when they were requested to sign the written e~ss It-was determined that the Town Attorney should ,work with s. i ~~~M Council Minutes Contd. Steger, it was unanimously CURB & GUTTER RESOLVED, that a request for curb and gutter on FIFTH ST.,S.E. both sides of Fifth Street between Washington Avenue and ~IMP.FIFTH ST. Madison Avenue, and the opening and improving of Fifth b.Wash.&Mad. OPENING LEX- INGTON B. 4 and 5th f ADJOURNMENT Street, between ~'ashington and Madison Avenues, and the opening and improving of Lexington Avenue between Fourth and Fifth Streets were referred to the Town Manager for a report on estimates.
