HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-23-48 Council Minutes Pulaski, Virginia, February 23, 1945 At a special meeting of the Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia held February 23, 1948 at 3:00 o~clock, P. M. in the Council Chamber of the Municipal Building, with all the Council present excepting Mayor A. T. Eskridge and T. F. Wirt, Mr. F. I. S. Hull, representing the Chesapeake and Potomac•~ Telephone Company, and Mr. D. P. Miniehan, representing the Appalachian Electric Power Company, appeared before the Council requesting that certain clauses of the proposed Town charter (House Bill #258} pertaining to the right of the Town to require all electric cables, telephone and telegraph wires to be placed under ground be deleted from the charter, and after hearing the requests of the gentlemen named and after discussion of the question, on motion of Howard R. Imboden, seconded by W. F. Whi$e, and passed by unanimous vote of all members present, BE IT RESOLVED that the language "To require allt telephone and telegraph wires and all wires and cables carrying electricity, now in use or hereafter used, to be placed in con- ~ duns underground and prescribe rules and regulations for the construction and use of such conduits" as appearing on Lines 50-51-52-53 & 54 on Page 46 of the proposed charter be deleted therefrom,, and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded forth- with to the Honorable Marvin G. Graham, member of the House of , Delegates and patron of the above numbered bill, in order that said deletion be elected prior to action upon said proposed bil~t by the General Assembly of the State of Virginia at its 1948 session.
