The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Tov~.
Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia was held in the l~a.nici-
pal Building at 4:00 P. M., Januar~r 18, 1949.

were read and approved.
BUILDING On motion duly made by T. F. Wirt, seconds by
APPLICATIONS 0. 0. Crowell, it was unanimously
RESOLVED, that the application for buildin~~
J.C.Wallace permit be granted to J. C. Wallace, Jr. for construction ~ ~
office addition to building located northwest corner, inter-
section Washington Avenue and Third Street, N. W., at estiated

to be used for a sign location be deferred and that Miss
Effie Boothe be permitted to continue maintaining present
sign located on this property until after the next Council
meeting.
On motion duly made by W. F. V~'hite,
seconded by T. F. dirt, it was unanimously
', ~i'EST COMMERCE RESOLVED, that the town manager be

authorized to enter an agreement with the firm of Lublin-
McGaughy & Associates for engineering services in connection
with the West Commerce Street bridge pro3ect on a fee of
six percent.
~ FIRE HYDRANT The Council was advised that it would

water main to install fire hydrant on Fourth Street and
'~ Lexington Avenue, and it was recommended that this be
deferred until a future date.

appointed as a committee to contact and negotiate with
G. W. Mashburn on purchase of necessary Right-of-way road

CLARK STREET ~ RESOLVED, that the town manager investigate
RUBBISH
DISPOSl~l, the condition of rubbish disposal in a ditch on Clark Street
and report recommendations to council for improving the sari.
