office. There were present: Mayor ~. T. Eskridge, presiding!;
Lottie x. Runion, clerk, and Councilmen: 0. P. Jordan, Jr.,:
T. F. ~~irt, Howard tt. Imboden, y`d. F. Vtihite, F. ~. Seagle,
I. R. Carper, rY. D. nust and G. C. Hall. kbsent: None.
CtIEF' OF The matter of the appointment of a cn.ief of police,
POLICE
L.u.i3U0THE created by the death of ~:arvin C. Pierce, was brought
before the Council, and tvao names were presented, viz.
Lee 5. Soothe and G. Earl Bouldin, ~.na upon vote taken by
secret ballot, the result showed that Lee ~. Boothe was

elected by majority as chief of police.
LIEUT. On motion of I. r. quirt, seconded by F. ~. Seagle

I~OuLll1N and unanimosL:ly passed, G. Earl Bouldin was proruoted to
lieutenant of police, and on further motion of T. F'. u:irt,
seconded by H. h. lmboden, and unar,~.i::ously passed the
salaries were fixed as follows, reetrouctive February lst,
1946:

Lieutenant of Police----y~185.00 per month.
