Lyer, who addressed the Council regarding regulate bons of parking between 3rd and nth streets on t~ddshington .venue, forth, requesting th«t this avenue be given due consideration. N., ana the bridge shoulc! remain as at present, and that the same liiuit should apply on the east side of waashington hve., between First 5t. N. and the bridge. Third St.r. Garter, that an entrance be provided to a lot on the t:xtT~:ri' ~ east side of Jefferson tivenue between end and 3rd streets 5`i'Uli~ north, to provide a parking iot for the customers of Garter's Food Center, as well as a free parking space for the public in general. On motion of ter. uyhite, seconded by ter. ~-~uboden ana unanimously passed, the entrance was authorized, as requested. BU5 U. P. Pulaski, Va., 1~ay 18, 1946 authorized that the bus stops be eliminated at all eight (8) corners, vii.... at the intersections of Second St. and V~ashington live., forth, and Second Street and Jefferson ~ve.~ forth, s.nd the Mayor and director of` public vaorks were directed to select suitable stops for the buses. r'tt~~Gfila~, the town attorney wa.s asked to look into the .~ u ~ iw i~i~ matter of franchise tor.busses and taxis operating within the town. ;,~Ur It n. Frequency ~-onitor, making a total of ~2,U7U.00, and the chief of police was aut}]horized to place the order. it was the sense of the Council that thB maintenance would be taken care of by local engineers.
