HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-04-38Iq Council Minutes Pulaski, Virginia, Oct. 41 1938 The Council of the Town of Pulaski met in monthly session at 7:30 o'clock P. M. at the Mayor's office. PRESENT There were present: Mayor E. W.Calfee, presiding; Lottie R. Runion, clerk; A. W. Gatewood, director public works, and Councilmen: A. T. Eskridge, T. J. Wallner, L. E. Whitesell, J. E. Bunts, F. A. Seagle, T. L. James, G. C. Hall and A. M. Bushong. Absent: None. MINUTES The minutes of the regular meeting held on September 6, 1938 were read and approved. BILLS & A detailed statement of the regular bills and pay - PAYROLLS rolls for the month of September were audited, approved, and on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, ordered paid. Said bills are given at the conclusion of these minutes. BUILDING The following building permits, coming within the PERivIITS requirements of the ordinance were granted: to J. Lloyd ,Patterson for a two-story brick dwelling on the north side of 2nd St., So., between Jefferson and Washington avenues, to cost X4,500.00; to L. E. Rockwell, for a one-story brick dwelling on the north side of 2nd St. South, between Jefferson and Washington avenues, to cost X41500.00; to Acme Hosiery Dye Works, Inc., for a one-story dye plant, brick and steel, on the west side of Jefferson Ave., between Commerce and First Street, South, to cost 4-35,000.00; to A. A. McNees for a two-story brick dwelling and apartments on the east side of Lagrange Street, between 2nd St. 5. W. and Chestnut St., to cost 43,500.00; to A. A. McNew for a brick apartment dwelling, two-story, on the east side of Lagrange St., to cost 44,000.00; to A. A. McAew for a one-story brick dwelling on the west side of Lake St., to cost 4Y3,000.00; to B. F. Ward #21for a one-story frame dwelling on the southeast side of i4ewbern Road, to cost X21200.00; to The Church of God for a one-story church building, concrete block, on the south side of 2nd St. N. E., to cost 45,000.00; to J. G. Long for a metal sided garage and coal house on the north side of 3rd St., N. E., to cost X75.00; to P. E.
