Pulaski, Va.,Dec. 6, 1938
The Council of the Town of Pulaski met in monthly
session at 7:30 P.I. at the Mayor's office.
PRESENT There were present: L -or L. V:-. Calfee, preziding;
Lottie R. Runion, Clerk; Counci-men: A. T. Eskridge, G. C. Hail,
L. E. VVhitesell, F. A. Seagle, T. L. James and A. i. Bushong.
Absent::Councilmen T. J. tYallner ana J. E. Bunts.
��INUT{'S The minutes of the regular meeting held on November
15th and special meeting held on November 22, 1938, were read
and approved.
BILLS & A detailed state.aent of the regular bills L.nd payrolls
PAYROLLS
for the month of November vx4s audited, approved and ordered
paid. Said bills are given at the conclusion of these
minutes.
BUILDING The following building perits, coming within the
PERMITS
requirements of the ordinance were granted: 'To S.
for a one-story frai e dweiling on the west side of Floyd. Ave.,
at Third St. So. E., to cost "41,500.00; to Doug!L s L'versole
for a frame dwelling, one-story, on the north side of Pulaski
Street between Lake and Cliff Streets, to cost w1,800.00; to
Douglas Eversole for a frame coal rouse on the north side of
Pulaski Street, to cost 48:0.00.
APPROPRIATION A co�anittee representing tl.e United Christian Charities
UNITED CHRISTIAN
CHARITIES appeared before the Council, requesting an -appropriations
On.motion duly made, seconded and unanimously cc3sed, the
Council authorized an appropriation of y;300.00, being the same
as azade last year.
LIGHT On motion duly made, seconced and unanimously passed,
PETITION
a petition presented by citizens in Z:,st Pulaski, requesting
street lights on Frank -lin Ave. and 6tli and 7th Streets, N. L'.,
was referred to the Light Committee with power to act.

FINAL REPORT The Mayor submitted a final report from Wiley &
WILEY & VdILSON
WARDEN Wilson, Consulting Engineers, on the instL.11ution of the
SPRING
machinery at Warden Spring, showing in report that the
project was coLiplete in accordance with plans and specifica-
tions.

RESO:�U'TION WHEREUPON, upon consideration of the report of
CLOSING
tiLLEY the viewers above set out, on motion duly i;.d.e, seconded
BLOCK 2
and unanimously passed, the following_ resolution was adopted:'
Vv'HEriEAS, the County School Board of Pulaski County,';"
Virginia, after due and lawful notice posted at the front
door of the Courthouse of the Circuit Court of Pulaski
County, Virginia, and at two other public places in said
County, presented its application to the Council of the
Town of Pulaski, Virginia, for the discontinuance and vaca-
tion of a certain alley running east and wrest through
Block No. 2, as shown on the official map of the said Torn
of Pulaski; and,
)!JHEREAS, pursuant to said application, viewrers

were appointed at a previous meeting of the Council of the
Town of Pulaski to view said alley proposed to be so dis-
continued and vacated, and required to report in writing
what inconvenience, if any, would result to any persons
from the discontinuance and vacation of said alley: and
WHEREAS, said viewers proceeded on the 1st day
of December, 1938, to view said alley and have filed their
written report in which they recommend said alley be closed
in part only in order that no inconvenience will result to
certain land owners along said alley; whereas, due and
lawful notice was given all the land owners along said
alley and affected by the application aforesaid of the
action proposed at this said meeting o--" the Council of the
Town of Pulaski, Virginia, and all the land owners along
said alley, or affected thereby, have proved and consented
in writing to the discontinuance of the portion of said
alley as recommended by said viewers, and the application,
posted notice, viewer's report, notice to the land owners
of this meeting, and their consent thereto have been duly
filed with the Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in accordance)

CLOSING alley running east and west through Block No. 2, as shown
kLLEY on the official map of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, and
BLOCK 2
bounded on the north by lots Nos. 29 to 51, inclusive, and
on the south by lots Nos. 28 to 50, inclusive, be, and it
hereby is, discontinued, vacated and closed as follows,
to -wit:
BEGINNING at a point in a certain other alley
running north and south through said Block No. 2, which
said other alley adjoins Lot Nos. 50 and 51 in said Block;
thence in a westerly direction, a distance of r25 feet; and
being that portion of said alley that is bounded on the north
by Lots. Nos. 35, 371 39, 41, 43, 451 47, 49 and51, and on
the south by Lots Nos. 34, 361 38, 40, 4�, 44, 46, 48 and 50,
as shown on said official map of theTown of Pulaski, Virginia.

Discontinuance of a certain alley.
The undersigned, Cooper Johnston, the present ownerof,
Nos. 28 and 50 in Block No. 9., as shown on the official map of the Town Cf
Pulaski., Virginia!-, hereby approves the recommendation of the viewers
recently appointed by the Council of the Town of Pulaskl,. to act upon the
application of the County School Board of Pulaski County in reference to
the closing of a certain alley running east and west through said Block
2, thereby consenting to the closing of said alley as shown in said rot.
It is expressly understood by the undersigned that said all,
will not be closed or vacated in any manner where the same adjoins Lots,,
Nos. 28, 50, 32, 290 31 and 55 in said Block., or for a distance of s6,11' t�-.
five (751) feet in an eastern direction from a certain other alley i0,,#
