HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-05-39its Council Minutes Pulaski, Va., December 5, 1931 The Council of the Town of Pulaski met in monthly session tonight at 7:30 at the ~taybr~s office. PRESENT There were present: Mayor E. W. Calfee, presiding, Lottie R. Runion, clerk, A. Vet. Gatewood, Director of Public Works and Councilmen: A. T. Eskridge, T. J. Wallner, L. E. Whitesell, F`. A. Seagle, T. L. James and G. C. hall. Absent: A. M. Bushong and J. E. Bunts. MINUTES The minutes of the regular neeting of November 17th 1939 were read and approved BILLS & A detailed statement of the regular bills and payrolls PAYROLLS for the month of November were audited, approved and on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, ordered paid. Said bills are given at the conclusion of these minutes. BUILDING The following building permits, coming within the PERMITS requirements of the ordinance were granted: To bars. Alice ;~: B. Dyer for addition to filling station on the west side of Washington-Ave., between 3rd and 4th streets, north, to cost X2,250.00; Cloyd ~danuel for frame coal house on north side of 4th St., East Pulaski, to cost ~v110.00; F. J. Cole for addition of porch to frame dwelling on the north side of 14th St. N. W. to cost X50.00. PETI~N A petition was presented by citizens and tax payers ~IGFITS requesting three street lights on Ridge Ave., East Pulaski, RIDGE Ave. and on motion duly made, seconded and passed, said petition was referred to the Light Committee with pourer to act. MEMBERS In accordance with a resolution of the Pulaski Fire ELECTED FIRE Department passed at the l~ovember meeting, the following DEPT citizens were appointed to membership of the department: F. Gray Seagle, First Warden with the DEPT. - LADDER TRUCK ADJOURN- ~dENT U title of Assistant Chief; L. B.Frost, Second Warden with the title of Senior Captain; Jessee fit. Leache, Third Warden with the title of Junior Captain. After discussing the needs of a ladder truck for the fire department, the Mayor was instructed to investigate with the view of purchasing this additional equipment, and report at the next meeting. There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 8:15 P. M.
